(ARC-NMI) — The Joeten Daidai Foundation has provided a major gift of $10,000 to support the humanitarian work of the Red Cross through its upcoming fundraising dinner.

The donation will be used locally to support the NMI Chapter’s disaster preparedness, response and recovery efforts.

“The Red Cross is celebrating 45 years of helping families here in the CNMI. Our critical lifesaving work over the years could not have been possible without the generosity of the Foundation,” said JD Tenorio, the NMI chapter’s disaster program manager.

“Since the inception of the Chapter in 1978, Joeten Enterprises has provided a legacy of financial support as well as crucially needed volunteer service. The late Roman Sablan Palacios was one of the founding NMI Red Cross Chapter board members and helped pave the way for several generations of Joeten family members providing humanitarian service,” said John Hirsh, executive director of the NMI Chapter.

The Red Cross will host a 1980’s themed dinner on Saturday, Nov. 18 at Kensington Hotel. The evening will feature dinner, drinks, live entertainment, door prizes and costume contest.
