THE Cardinals remain unscathed in the 2023 Tan Holdings Saipan Baseball League as they notched their sixth win by shooting down the Blue Jays, 14-3, Friday at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field.
The Cardinals found their footing right from the start with their first four at bat connecting led by Nate Camacho’s two-RBI double. He and Jerald Cabrera later rounded the bases off errors for a 4-0 lead.
The Blue Jays had no answer until Jobe Reyes connected an RBI single in the top of the third.
But the Cardinals upped the ante in the top of the fourth led by Jonah Flores’ two-RBI single and Cabrera’s two-RBI double as part of a nine-run push to extend the lead, 13-1.
The Blue Jays sneaked in two runs in the bottom of the fourth and in the fifth, but the Cardinals’ Nokki Saralu added the icing on the cake with a solo homerun in the top of the fifth to seal the deal, 14-3.
Saralu went 4-2 at bat with three runs while Nate Camacho and Jerald Cabera went 4-2 and 3-1 at bat, respectively, with two RBIs each.
