HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — A man accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl last week was confirmed to be an aide at Simon Sanchez High School.
Last week, Lorenzo Mundo Calvo, 56, was charged in the Superior Court of Guam for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl and paying her $20 afterward, which she felt was payment to “keep quiet (about) what had just happened.”
On Tuesday, The Guam Daily Post reviewed government of Guam staffing patterns and confirmed Calvo has been a school aide at Simon Sanchez High School since January 2019.
Guam Department of Education spokesperson Michelle Franquez confirmed with the Post, as of Monday, Calvo had been detailed to the central office.
“As protocol, the employee has been detailed to central office until the investigation has been completed,” Franquez explained.
According to the complaint, Calvo instructed the victim to step on his back as a form of massage before he allegedly asked her to lie down next to him.
During that time, Calvo allegedly asked for a hug and placed his arm over her body and his leg over the lower part of her legs.
“The victim recalled that the defendant’s legs were heavy, and she felt trapped. The defendant then placed his face between her breasts and left his face there for a couple of seconds,” the complaint stated, adding the victim recalled Calvo pressing his face into her and moving it side to side.
According to the complaint, Calvo on a previous occasion hugged her and kissed her on the lips, which made the victim uncomfortable.
Calvo was charged with fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct as a misdemeanor and harassment as a petty misdemeanor.
After being charged, Calvo was released from custody on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond by Magistrate Judge Benjamin Sison Jr. on Sept. 27.
