Gov. Arnold I. Palacios and Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang meet with the new Commonwealth Public Utilities Commission member, James Sirok, in the governor’s conference room at 4 p.m. on Friday.
“WE’RE good,” Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang said on Friday when asked about his relationship with Gov. Arnold I. Palacios.
The governor said since he had already made a statement about the issue, he wanted Apatang to be given the opportunity to comment.
Palacios earlier said that he and the lt. governor would always have differences of opinion “on a lot of things, and it’s not going to be hunky-dory every day.”
On Friday, Apatang said, “We’re good. We don’t have any problems.”
There are days when they disagree, but at the end of day, Apatang said, “We have to agree. That’s the only way to do it.”
As for their friendship, Apatang said, “We never had problems — we never ‘divorced.’ Whenever we had a disagreement we would sit down and talk and discuss the issue.”
On Friday, the two took turns in swearing in the new members of the Commonwealth Public Utilities Commission — James Sirok and Dr. John “Jack” Angello — in the governor’s conference room at 4 p.m.
