Southern United, Kanoa pummel foes in U17 girls soccer

SOUTHERN United and Kanoa football clubs dominated their respective foes in the U17 Girls Division of the TakeCare Youth Soccer League Fall 2023 on Saturday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville. 

Southern United were simply unmatched as they silenced Shirley’s Football Club, 18-0. 

SUFC were in total control in the first half of the match, scoring 12 goals. Rizza Relucio initiated the onslaught with the opening goal after just three minutes of play. After a brief moment of back-and-forth action, SUFC unleashed five goals under 20 minutes led by Pia Ngewakl, who earned a hat-trick with three goals. SUFC never slowed down, adding six more goals to further extend their lead, 12-0. 

SUFC continued to control the tempo throughout the second half with Ngewakl and Summer Manahane contributing three and two goals, respectively.

Shirley’s failed to score and had to accept defeat, 0-18. 

Kanoa vs MP United

Kanao Football Club trounced MP United Football Club, 9-0. 

After just three minutes of play,  Kanoa’s Andrei Kaithlyn Chavez delivered back-to-back goals, which were followed by Aubrey Castro’s goal for a 3-0 lead. 

Kanoa returned to the second half stronger than ever with Deseha Mendiola scoring three consecutive goals at the 39th, 45th, and 50th minute marks for the hat-trick while teammates Chavez, Castro, and Mia Abuan added the finishing touches with a goal each to secure the easy win, 9-0.
