MANGO adds evening session to upcoming workshop

THE Marianas Alliance of Non-Governmental Organizations or MANGO will offer an evening session for its “Nonprofit Toolkit” workshop set for June 5, according to Training Manager Shawna Babauta.

The workshop will now have two timeslots: the original 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. schedule, and the new 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. schedule.

Both workshops will take place at the 500 Sails Dance Studio in Lower Base, Tanapag on Santa Remedio Drive. The studio is in the same building as the Department of Land and Natural Resources, near Power Plant 1 and the Managaha Ferry Terminal.

Babuata said the topics to be discussed include: incorporating as a nonprofit; developing organizational documents; securing federal recognition as a 501(c)(3) organization; standard board operations; fiduciary responsibilities of the board; and more.

She said part of MANGO’s mission is to support nonprofits so  they can focus on their programmatic activities.

Babauta said training events like the “Nonprofit Toolkit” workshop are in line with MANGO’s mission.

In addition, MANGO offers administrative services and  can  help workshop participants understand federal and local grant cycles; grant application writing;  periodic reporting; and how to successfully close out grants.
