RB invites non-government groups to join community programs

SAIPAN Mayor Ramon “RB” Blas Camacho is inviting cultural, non-profit and other non-government organizations to join the community-based programs implemented by his office.

“I’m inviting them to call their Saipan Mayor’s Office to schedule an appointment, so we can sit down and discuss how they can be involved in community-based programs like the adopt-a-place program or special projects for the community that their organizations want to do in collaboration with the Saipan Mayor’s Office,” Camacho said on Saturday.

He added, “It doesn’t matter which country they came from; they call these islands home, too, and they should be recognized for participating in community projects that benefit everyone.”

He said groups like the Lions Clubs are already “very involved and active” in the adopt-a-place program.

Camacho noted that as a mayoral candidate in the last election, his platform included “personalizing village issues through dialogues and community meetings.”

To learn more about his office’s community programs, call (670) 234-6208, Monday to Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
