FILIPINO community leader and businessman Marcelo “Mar” Masilungan is reminding his compatriots on island that their Overseas Workers Welfare Association membership can be renewed online by doing the following:
1) Download the OWWA mobile app to your cell phone.
2) Click “forgot my username and password.” OWWA will then email you your credentials.
3) Login to your account and renew your membership. For “duration of the contract,” select “two years,” then proceed to the payment portal.
4) Select the third option, which is “GCash,” then “711 payment merchants.” Take a screenshot of the 10-digit reference number and send it to your family member in the Philippines.
5) To pay the bill, your family member must locate the self-service kiosk inside a 711 store, click “pay bills,” type on the search engine “MYEGPH” then provide your reference number, telephone number, and amount including the transaction fee, which is 1,413 pesos (about $25). Print the receipt, present it to the store cashier and pay the fee.
“I just renewed my workers’ OWWA membership using the above procedure,” Masilungan said.
