NICK Leon Guerrero clinched the Amigos Golf Club’s December Ace of the Month title on Sunday at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort east course.
During the qualifier round on Nov. 19, Leon Guerrero swung better than most of the competition as he ended the day with a gross of 85. Aided by a handicap of 18, his net score was 67.
During the ace round, which was held on Nov. 26, Leon Guerrero faced tougher conditions, but maintained a steady swing to complete the course with a gross of 89 and a net score of 71 for a total net score of 138.
As the December ace, it will be Leon Guerrero’s first time to compete in the Amigos Ace of Aces title tournament, which is slated for Jan. 13 and 14.
Finishing second in the December ace tournament was Peter “Dung” Tenorio. The NMI national player recorded the best performance of the tournament by shooting a gross of 73 on the front nine and 77 on the back nine, but his four handicap could only give him a net total of 142.
Coming in third was Frank Ermitanio with a net total of 143.
In the optional play, the Par 3 winners were Ned Norita on hole #3; Freddy Cataluna, holes #7 and #17; and Ben Jones Sr. on hole #13. Each hole winner was awarded $140.
