Rota conducts post-typhoon cleanup

COMMUNITY members and government agencies on Rota are continuing to remove typhoon debris from roads and property.

The Department of Public Works, the Department of Fire & Emergency Medical Services, and the Department of Public Safety personnel assisted the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation  in clearing the road to  Matan Hanom Cave.

They cut fallen trees and disposed of them at a landfill.

 The Office of the Mayor of Rota, for its part, is assisting the community members in properly disposing of their green waste.

The Rota Public Information Office on Monday asked residents to gather their green waste from their property and pile it beside a road.

The office is reminding the community that only green waste will be collected.

Rota DPW will be going around the island to pick up green waste starting on Saturday, June 3.
