BLUE Haus is headed to the masters division finals of the 2023 Saipan Magalahi Eagles Club Invitational Basketball League after trouncing JSN, 93-60, Thursday in their semifinal match at the Gualo Rai basketball court.
Blue Haus was more in sync as a team with their ball movement creating several uncontested shot opportunities, which included a barrage of three-pointers courtesy of Jay-R Barrios, Brendon Talania, and Elmer Esdrelon to seize the lead in the opening quarter, 23-15.
In the second canto, JSN started to find their groove with Bernard Montano igniting from beyond the arc with three consecutive buckets and Ben Pelisamen adding two more triples to trail closely behind, 39-44.
But JSN lost touch in the third period as Blue Haus’s Melvin Capalad and Esdrelon took over the highlight reel with a combined 16 consecutive points. Even when the two sat down for a breather, the rest of the team made up for their absence with Tony Diaz, Dan Chan, and Marlon De Dios pushing a double-digit lead, 79-50.
The action slowed down a bit during the fourth and final quarter with JSN’s Cecilio Bisana connecting shots while Blue Haus unleashed three-pointers to secure the win, 93-60.
JSN is the overall third-place in the masters division while Blue Haus will now face the A Plus Team for the title.
