The island’s Lions Clubs members pose for a photo during a cleanup in a Garapan beach area on Nov. 11, 2023.

ON Nov. 11, 2023, the Lions Clubs International, Region 2, District 204, conducted their monthly cleanup at their newly adopted site from Garapan Fishing Base to the Carolinian Utt. Almost  80 members joined the cleanup, which aims to raise environmental awareness, one of the global causes of the Lions Clubs International.

The Saipan Lions consist of 12 clubs that are autonomous in creating and implementing their projects, activities and fundraising events.  But as Region 2, they can also work as one.

“We are grateful to our District Global Service Team Vice Chair Marie Javier for initiating the adoption of the new site, and to  Saipan Mayor  RB Camacho for the partnership,” Region Chair Annamae Adaza said.
