KANOA Football Club continue to improve their record in the Marianas Soccer League 1 by beating the MP United Football Club, 5-2, at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Tuesday.

KFNC established complete control during the first half of the match as they held most of the possessions. After 10 minutes of back-and-forth action, they managed to crack open the defensive line and attack the weakside with Markus Toves delivering the first goal of the match at the 12th minute mark.

MPU answered with tighter defense and successfully stopped the bleeding for the next 15 minutes. However, KNFC’s constant pressure eventually broke through once again with Toves finding the back of the net. Nine minutes later, teammate Andruw Omelau fired the team’s third goal to lead comfortably by halftime, 3-0.

MPU returned to the second half with better communication and coverage, but eventually, fatigue started to hit their players, allowing Toves to complete the hat-trick with his third goal at the 75th minute mark followed by one more by Daniell Pablo at the 84th minute mark for a 5-0 lead.

Facing an inevitable defeat, MPU still managed to put up the fight and squeezed in two goals — Jireh Yobech at the 70th minute mark and Ian Song at the 89th minute mark —to go down fighting, 2-5.
