Anthony Jose Ilo
(DPS) — On Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023 at about 12:55 a.m., a theft incident was reported at Jin Li Store in Dandan.
Responding officers learned from the on-duty cashier that a male person walked into the store around 12:30 a.m. While assisting other customers who were in the store at the time, the cashier had observed the male person acting suspiciously. The male person left the store without purchasing anything. The cashier decided to review the surveillance recording of the store and discovered that the male person had taken several items such as a hat, a pair of earrings and a pair of vape products.
Surveillance footage also recorded the vehicle that the suspect was operating — a blue Toyota Hilux pickup truck — and its license plate number.
At about 2:30 a.m., the suspect’s vehicle was found parked at the back side of Club 88 in Garapan. Officers made contact with the male suspect, identified as Anthony Jose Ilo, 25, who was inside the establishment playing slots. He was later escorted out of the establishment after a witness positively identified him as the person responsible for the theft incident that happened at the Jin Li Store.
Ilo was also observed wearing the pair of earrings that he had stolen. He later confessed to being responsible for the incident.
Upon arrest, he was found to be in possession of a glass pipe and one .223 bullet. Officers also discovered two other glass pipes inside the blue pickup truck that contained white residue.
A narcotics field test was done, which identified the residue as presumptive positive for methamphetamine.
Ilo was later booked at the Department of Corrections.
