JROTC cadets clean up CK cemetery

ON the morning of Oct. 14, 2023, over 140 cadets from Kagman High School, Marianas High School, and Saipan Southern High School conducted a cleanup activity at the Chalan Kanoa cemetery as part of the preparations for All Souls’ Day.

The cadets divided the cemetery into sections and meticulously undertook the task of cleaning and beautification their assigned areas. Their collective efforts were a testament to their commitment to serve the community. 

These dedicated cadets, armed with gloves and trash bags, cleared the cemetery of debris, cleaned the graves, and removed wilted flowers and weathered wreaths.

From 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the cadets filled over 200 bags of debris. The cleanup served as an vivid illustration of the strength of collective teamwork and the enduring spirit of community service to make a meaningful, positive change.

The event was a major success in helping the community honor our loved ones who have passed.
