KANOA Football Club is still the top team in the U14 boys division of the TakeCare Youth Soccer League after collecting their seventh win by blanking the Matansa Football Club, 2-0, on Saturday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
The first half was filled with several exchanges, but neither team could score.
In the second half, as soon as the ball dropped, Kanoa applied pressure and caught Matansa off guard. This allowed Kanoa’s Maximus Taitano to strike and find the back of the net.
Kanoa’s tough defense continued to wreak havoc as Matansa failed to keep up, allowing Kanoa’s Rooney Gil to score and extend the deficit, 2-0.
Matansa managed to tighten their defensive walls throughout the remainder of the match, but they could not convert and had to accept defeat at the hands of Kanoa.
