THE Rendezvous Warriors solidified their third-place spot in the Tuesday division of the 2023 SBA Budweiser Open 8-Ball League by defeating the Black 8 Slayers, 8-5, Tuesday at Black 8 Pool Bar.

The Warriors grasped the early lead thanks to Jerry Soriano, Jomer Enriquez and Jesse Guerra who defeated their respective opponents for a 3-1 run in the opening Singles 8-Ball match.

The Slayers made sure not to repeat the same mistake and fought harder throughout the night. Ray Matsunaga and Arlon Buensalida triumphed as a team while Rey Hermogenes  joined the spotlight with Buensalida in the one-on-one scene.

But the Warriors stood their ground, splitting the next three matches to remain afloat. Soriano and Cesar Sangalang then secured the third and final Partners 8-Ball match to seal the deal for the Warriors, 8-5.

Rustlers vs 8Shooter

The Black 8 Ideal Signs Rustlers remain at the top of the food chain  with a total of 82 wins after powering past the True North Luck 8Shooter, 11-2.

In the opening match, the Rustlers’ Chester Hamoy, Mark Butac and Mei Rengiil swept the Singles 8-Ball event for a 4-0 lead.

Lucky 8Shooter tried to stop the bleeding with Lance Gonzal and Joseph Achas splitting the following Partners 8-Ball match, but the Rustlers quickly recovered with a 3-1 run in the next singles match and claimed the remaining three games en route to victory.
