(MVA) —  The Marianas Visitors Authority recently participated in the Adventure Travel World Summit or ATWS, the leading global conference for adventure tourism professionals, connecting qualified hosted buyers with adventure travel suppliers from around the world.

ATWS is an annual four-day event that takes place in a different adventure travel destination each year, bringing together over 700 adventure travel professionals from over 50 countries, including tour operators, travel agents, destination marketing organizations, and adventure travel suppliers.

This year’s summit was held from Sept. 11-14, 2023, in Hokkaido, Japan.   The event featured a combination of educational sessions, networking opportunities, and adventure activities.

“The Marianas has a lot to offer adventure travelers, including world-class diving, hiking, kayaking, skydiving, and heritage tours, to name a few,” said MVA Managing Director Christopher A. Concepcion.   “ATWS provided a platform for MVA to connect with key players in the adventure travel industry, including tour operators, travel agents, and media.   We were able to gain insights into the preferences and expectations of adventure travelers, which will help us better tailor our marketing and product offerings to meet the demands of this growing market segment.”

ATWS showcased successful adventure travel destinations and initiatives from around the world and offered a range of educational sessions and workshops led by industry experts.
