VIK Team routed IT&E, 111-64, to bag their second win in the open division of the 2023 Saipan Magalahi Eagles Club Invitational Basketball League on Monday at the Gualo Rai basketball court.
San De Vero and Tristan Montes ignited Vik Team’s momentum, scoring eight points to establish early control.
Among the IT&E players, only Brian Natividad and Sean Apasan, who delivered six points, could find the bottom of the net while Vik Team’s onslaught continued for a comfortable 20-9 lead.
In the second period, IT&E seemed to have recovered as they gained confidence from behind the three-point line with Natividad at the frontline scoring three buckets followed by two more courtesy of Billy Natividad and Arjay Giron.
However, Vik Team continued to fire at will. Joseph Torres converted two triples while San De Vero remained a threat within the perimeter with 12 points as their team kept a safe distance, 51-30.
IT&E’s players were persistent, but their morale gradually faded as Vik Team continued to flourish with Apasan and Torres taking over the second half en route to a blowout victory, 111-64.
