(JKPL) — The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library-Children of Our Homeland has  scheduled the following activities:

• Children’s Read Aloud and Crafts features an assortment of age-appropriate stories, rhymes, finger plays, music and movement to help your child develop language and early literacy skills. Save the dates: Saturday Sept. 9 and 23 at10:30 a.m.

• Children’s Movie Day. Enjoy fun filled movie! Showtimes: Saturdays, Sept. 9 and 23 at 1 p.m. featuring Ant-Man and the Wasp and Disney Pixar Car

• Afterschool Craft activities: Every Wednesday and Friday, 3:30 p.m.

•          Read and interact with your child:

Sept. 15 – Sing the ABCs together. Then sing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. Ask your child to pay attention to how the tunes sound similar.

Sept. 19 – It’s Talk Like a Pirate Day. Read a pirate themed book to your child in your best pirate voice.

Sept. 29 – is World Heart Day, Exercise with your child and keep your hearts healthy! Do 10 jumping jacks, then 10 toe touches while counting out loud.
