The new rate applies to residential and non-residential customers.
According to CUC’s rate schedule, the monthly customer charge and electric non-fuel rate remain the same.
Residential customers who consume within the 500 kilowatt hour mark will pay 16 cents.
Those who use between 501 and 1,000 kilowatt hours will pay 66 cents.
Customers who consume between 1,001 and 2,000 kilowatt hour will pay 86 cents.
Those who use beyond 2,000 kilowatt hour will pay 0.127 cents.
Commercial customers will pay 0.86 cents; government customers, 0.91 cents; and non-conforming load, 0.222 cents.
CUC said the price per barrel for diesel fuel, prior to freight and other associated charges, averaged $165 as of June 27.
The cost of fuel in May 2008 was $158 per barrel.
During that period, the fuel rate was 35.7 cents/kwh.
“As long as the price per barrel continues to rise, our consumers are likely to experience the same incline,” CUC Executive Director Antonio S. Muna said.
