The two engines have been experiencing some mechanical problems for a couple of days this week.
CUC said it has “to expand two feeders at one time,” due to the engine problems.
Engine #3 encountered problem with its piston and liner on cylinder #9 on Tuesday, while engine #8 experienced excessive water leaks from its cylinders #6 and 16 yesterday, CUC said.
It will continue to work on the problems of engine #8 today. The engine went down at 11:09 a.m. yesterday.
On Tuesday, engine #3 was taken offline at 7:05 p.m. and was put back online on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
CUC reminds the public that its load shedding schedule is subject to change to address particular emergencies.
CUC said it will resume its current load shedding schedule as soon as it can correct the problems of engine #8.
CUC’s current load shedding schedule will run until Aug. 1.
