Ezra Stevenson was charged with two counts of grand larceny, burglary,three counts of malicious mischief, driving vehicle without owner’s consent, duties of driver in accidents involving damage, reckless driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.
The information filed before Supreme Court stated that Stevenson stole a motor vehicle belonging to Jeff Barabe on March 30, 2008.
The information added that Stevenson entered Dim’s Bar on March 30 and stole two cases of beers.
The information stated that Stevenson damaged the vehicles of Barabe, Joselito Osero and Mary Ann Rivera.
The police affidavit of Officer Palmer Swei stated that Barabe parked his car by Kaud Keane’s residence on March 29, 2008.
The car was not lock and the keys were in the ignition when the defendant and a juvenile got into the vehicle and drove the car away around midnight without Barabe’s permission.
The affidavit stated that Stevenson and the juvenile drove to Dim’s bar in Ngiwal and stole two cases of beer.
The affidavit stated that the owner of the bar, Xavier Ngirameong, saw the car driving away from his club, so the owner went to his bar to check and saw the window open and that two cases of beer were missing.
The owner drove away and saw the black car. He reported the incident to the police.
Stenveson, who was still driving Barabe’s car, got into accident later in front of Everdil store in Ngetkib Airai State.
Stevenson who was under the influence of alcohol lost control of the car and collided into two parked vehicles owns by Osero and Rivera.
Stevenson and the juvenile fled from the scene but were arrested later.
