Joeten Motors, Microl Corp. and Triple J Motors sold 38 used cars in January, 45 in February, 27 in March, 31 in April, 17 in May and 23 last month.
February had the highest number in sales and May the lowest.
Total sales of used cars for the first quarter of 2008 reached 110 units while the second quarter sales reached 71.
Last month, Joeten Motors and Microl Corp. sold 9 units of used cars each, claiming a 39.1 percent market share, while Triple “J” Motors sold 5, for a 21.7 percent market share.
In earlier reports, CADA president and Joeten Motors general manager Matthew Deets said the sales of secondhand vehicles had been robust since last year.
“People are looking for less expensive cars,” Deets said. He added that the sales for used cars adds to the overall sales of vehicles on island.
Joeten Motors is the distributor for Nissan, Ford, Honda and Kia. Microl Toyota is the dealer of Toyota and Chevrolet while Triple J is the distributor for Hyundai, Mitshubishi, Isuzu, Susuki, Subaru and Mazda.
