He is inviting the people to another forum on Thursday, July 17, this time at Chacha Oceanview Junior High School in Kagman at 6 p.m.
Propst, a small business owner, said they want to bring the public forum to distant communities.
Kagman is one of the most populated villages of Saipan.
The forum on Thursday, Propst said, will discuss the recently signed CUC-Aggreko contract.
He said the deal will result in higher fuel rate for ratepayers due to Aggreko’s high-speed engines that consume more oil.
“Aggreko is not the best option. We totally oppose Aggreko,” he said, adding that he would like CUC “to put out a new emergency” request for proposal so that other firms can submit their proposals.
The Kagman forum, Propst said, will discuss a signature campaign against the Aggreko contract as well as CUC’s contracts with DCM and CISCO.
According to Propst, CUC should invoke the penalty clause against the two contractors for their failure to meet the requirements set by their contracts with the utilities agency.
The forum will also discuss other power issues.
