According to court records Diaz only July 7 went to the courthouse and admitted guilt to the citation and paid a fine for assault charges.A criminal citation for assault was issued against Diaz on June 27 and a hearing was supposed to be set on July 16.The criminal citation was based on the threats he made on Barabe. The police investigated the case.Diaz sent a threatening email to Barabe which stated, that “ I am very concern about your safety… I do not have any control over some of my supporters, and they might do something stupid without my knowledge. It has happened many times before here in Palau.”A civil suit against Sen. Diaz is also being prepared.The OTV owners, said the damages will be sought against Diaz for assauly, defamation, slander and copyright law violation.
