Letter to the Editor: Downfall of the rich and powerfula

On Guam we have a leader who has better things to do than do things for the good of the people of Guam. He is an absentee representative because he fails and fails time and again in anything he does.

The people of the CNMI are tuned into a couple of incidents involving leaders who they have put in charge of certain things in the past and they may have shown that confidence to people unworthy of it.

The federal court has seen fit to indict the CNMI lt. governor for something he may have gotten away with as far back as a decade ago and saw fit to attempt once more to get away with it once again.

I wish and hope that this incident will spur the people to action and an acceptance that those in charge may only be looking out for their own good and not those of the people of the CNMI.

We must stamp out the corrupt within our population and they must be punished for their crimes. It could be that they never would have believed that they would have to answer to the people.

The reason that the CNMI is about to lose many of the advantages it has enjoyed for the past few decades is that its leaders have led poorly and looked out for their own best interests.
