The six teachers received their certificates for completing the program on Friday during a brief ceremony at the Palau Community College’s Training Room.The Apprenticeship training started on June 16 and ended on Friday.The participants who are all high school and Elementary teachers underwent training on different fields such as mechanics, land surveying and agriculture and auto cad.PCC President Dr. Patrick Tellei said that the purpose of the training is to provide hands on training for teachers during the summer to enhance their teaching skills and for their personal development.The program started in summer of 2003 and there is currently a total of 39 teachers from Yap who were certified by PCC.Dr. Tellei thanked the OISCA, WCTC and the Ministry of Resources and Development and Bureau of Land and Survey for hosting and accommodating some of the participants.PCC Upward Bound Director Kuye Belelai, Dean Academic Affairs Albina Timarong, PCC Vice President Thomas Taro and Dean Willy Wally were also present during the ceremony.The participants who completed the two months training from Yap are James Rogol, Steven Mara, Gregorio You, Alejandro Garaig, Eddy Uolai and Phillip Paiy.Alfred Nam and Samuel Gaangarad did not finish the training and left Palau earlier.
