CHILDREN ages 5 to 15 years old will get free haircuts this Sunday ahead of the school opening on Aug. 22.

Organized by the Saipan Magahaga Lady Eagles Group, the back-to-school free haircut event will be held at the Minatchom Atdao Pavilion in Susupe from 8 a.m. till noon on Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023. The services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Yolanda De Ramos, president of the Saipan Magahaga Lady Eagles Group, said Sharmaine Casquero and nine other hairstylists will provide the free haircuts.

“We organized this in cooperation with the hairstylists group on Saipan to help parents with the cost of haircuts for their children,” De Ramos said.

She said the Saipan Magahaga Lady Eagles and the hairstylists want to serve the community, even in a small way.

Angel Lastimado, the group’s past president, said they are very grateful to the hairstylists who will volunteer their time and effort. “We won’t be able to do this without them. So we really thank them for supporting us,” she added.

Chartered in February 2021, the Saipan Magahaga Lady Eagles are under the fraternal order of the Philippine Eagles. The Lady Eagles’ parent group is the Saipan Magalahi Eagles Club.

The other officers of the Saipan Magahaga Lady Eagles are its secretary Maureen Claveria, and treasurer Ritchell Sublemente.
