Digital tools are paving the way for student triumph. These tools not only boost traditional teaching but also put students in control of their own learning adventure.
Start with Google Apps
Jonathan Aguon
Jonathan Aguon, the principal of MHS and an educational technology instructor, advocates for students to delve into the realm of Google apps, including Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive. The beauty lies in the fact that the Public School System (PSS) equips each student with a Google account, granting them free access to these powerful tools, thus eliminating the need for additional purchases.
Aguon emphasized, “It is important for students to understand how to be responsible users on the Internet.” He also added, “It is important to be safe in using, and remembering secure, passwords, and managing what they share online.”
PSS ensures that every active student is provided a Google account under the MYCNMIPSS Google domain, ensuring accessibility throughout their enrollment period.

Empowering through interactive learning
In the pursuit of enriching student learning experiences, Karen Ann Manuel, the Vice Principal of Hopwood Middle School and an educational technology instructor, champions the utilization of interactive and gamified programs. With a plethora of options at her disposal, she recommends platforms like Kahoot!, Quizizz for Schools, Gimkit, Blackboard Learn, and Nearpod.
“These programs inject an element of engagement into learning, making the process more interactive, enjoyable, and effective,” she said.
By embracing such tools, educators can transform even the most fundamental concepts into captivating lessons that resonate with students.
Nurturing academic growth
John Jimeno
John Jimeno, a dedicated Special Education teacher at Koblerville Elementary School, shines a light on the significance of targeted educational programs for nurturing young minds. In his guidance, Moby Max, Starfall, and IXL emerge as beacons of academic development. These programs provide personalized learning experiences, catering to individual strengths and weaknesses, and propelling students toward academic excellence.
Jimeno added, “These approach aligns with the idea that every student has a unique learning pace and style, and by harnessing the power of digital tools, educators can tailor their teaching to suit each child’s needs.”
As tech and teaching unite, students gain tools for smarter learning. Master Google apps, join interactive platforms, and fuel academic growth with specialized programs. Together, educators, students, and institutions shape a brighter educational future. Technology is a catalyst, not a substitute – it molds digitally-savvy achievers for our changing world.
