Just like you Mr. Cruz, my son has the rights and privileges as a U.S. citizen. This island is his homeland as well. The only difference is he won’t be able to defend his right because he cannot talk; he’s a child with autism. But I’m his mother and I will speak to defend his rights.
We are not using our kids for immigration status. We are here to protect them and to take care of them. We don’t need your sympathy Mr. Cruz. We just need a little bit of your conscience.
Look around in your neighborhood Mr. Cruz. If you find parents with a special child, just ask them how difficult it is. If raising a special child is an Olympic sport, I guarantee you Mr. Cruz we could win a gold medal.
Still, I would like to thank you Mr. Cruz for giving us an idea as to whom we could entrust the care of our kids if it’s time for us to leave.
