Letter to the Editor: Honor and integrity in public office

Mr. Lt. Governor we believe that it is unjust, unethical and highly irresponsible of you to continue holding a high public office position.

The right and proper thing to do is  to resign or go on leave until the case is resolved.

We do believe in our judicial system that anyone charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Not only is this matter such an insult it also makes a mockery of our government’s integrity.

If it were a common ordinary individual indicted he or she will be slapped with the fullest extent of the law and a no-bail will be handed down so he or she can be thrown in jail to await court hearings and proceedings.

As advocates and concerned citizens in our homeland involved in everyday critical public affairs affecting our community, we urge you to do the right thing and tender your resignation immediately. You are unjustly, unfaithfully and irresponsibly representing our homeland and it is of great insult, disrespect and dishonor to the people of the commonwealth.

All due respect, Mr. Villagomez, this is nothing personal but we hope that you take our statement of concern into consideration and do the right thing for we, as taxpayers, voters and citizens of this great commonwealth deserve to be represented with honor, respect  and integrity.
