LISS says it’s on track with education-tourism

LISS — Ladera International School of Saipan hosted 26 students from South Korea for a three-week program learning English as well other core subjects.

Korean students from grades 3 to 6 had the opportunity to make new acquaintances with local children and enjoy a festive farewell hosted by LISS, its students, faculty and staff.

“LISS is on track with education-tourism,” stated Wayne Pangelinan, LISS director.

LISS’ new school year opened on Aug. 4, 2008, and the farewell event highlighted the first activity for the regular school year.

Parents and guardians, students and teachers enjoyed the performances of the Korean students from Muse Park Broadway English Musical School and the LISS Tigers dance crews.

The Chamolinian Cultural Village dance troupe also performed.

“Overall the event created an ambiance of excitement with shared musical and dance performances that entertained the crowd,” Pangelinan said.

LISS teachers were thanked for the support and commitment they have shown to the students.

“Proud local and Korean parents witnessed their children’s performances as it was the children that highlighted the event,” Pangelinan said. “This was truly another successful program enhancing education-tourism.”
