(DPS) — The CNMI Department of Public Safety will conduct eight separate DUI Checkpoints:
Aug.19, 2023
The first checkpoint will occur on Chalan Monsignor Guerrero Rd, Chalan Kiya along the westbound lane from 7:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.
The second checkpoint will be on Chalan Pale Arnold Rd, Gualo Rai on the southbound lane from 10:00 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.
Aug. 25, 2023
The first checkpoint will be on Chalan Monsignor Guerrero Rd, San Jose on the westbound lane from 7:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.
The second checkpoint will be on Chalan Pale Arnold Rd, Chalan Lau Lau on the southbound lane from 10 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.
Aug. 26, 2023
The first checkpoint will be on Chalan Pale Arnold Rd, Puerto Rico on the southbound lane from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
The second checkpoint will be on Chalan Pale Arnold Rd, Gualo Rai on the southbound lane from 9:30 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.
Sept. 4, 2023 (Labor Day)
The first checkpoint will be on Chalan Pale Arnold Rd, Puerto Rico on the southbound lane from 3 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
The second Checkpoint will be on Chalan Monsignor Guerrero Rd, Chalan Kiya on the westbound lane from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.

DPS said the purpose of these scheduled checkpoints is to promote public safety while increasing awareness of the dangers of driving while under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medications while on the island’s roadways. Locations of these checkpoints were pre-determined based on the number of auto accidents, and impaired driving violations in the area, DPS added.
