(Special Advertising Feature) — Christmas season is here and every Friday at 5:30 p.m. in December, Hyatt Regency Saipan’s lobby will showcase local talents from the island’s various schools as they bring yuletide cheer to in-house guests and community members.
Three groups from Saipan International School will perform today, Friday, Dec. 2. They are the SIS Ensemble, the SIS Elementary School Girls dance group and siblings Jesse and Soledad Sablan.
The SIS Ensemble members are composed of high school students devoted to playing enchanting woodwind instruments such as the flute and the clarinet.
The SIS elementary school girls dance group is composed of students from second to fifth grades. Teacher Pamela Walsh said these children are bursting with creativity in the performing arts. “They are excited to perform!” she added.
SIS senior Jesse Sablan and sophomore Soledad Sablan both play the ukulele. “We hope that our music will entertain people’s music taste buds,” Jesse said.
“I first got the chance to teach ukulele in the 10th grade during the Covid-19 pandemic and I asked my sister to be my co-teacher. Together, we taught close to a dozen children for nearly five months,” Jesse added.
Everyone is invited to the Christmas performances at Hyatt Regency Saipan. They are open to the public. For more information, call (670) 234-1234.
