HONOLULU (BoH) — Bank of Hawai‘i Foundation announced a contribution of $100,000 to Hawai‘i Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund to support residents affected by the devastating Maui wildfires.
“Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by the wildfires on Maui. To see the devastation and know that the lives of our family, friends and neighbors have been forever altered is heart wrenching. Our deepest condolences go out to the entire Maui community and all those impacted by the loss of loved ones, their homes, their livelihoods. We remain committed to supporting our employees, our customers and communities throughout this difficult time, and this donation to Hawai‘i Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund is just one part of that,” said Peter Ho, chairman, president and CEO of Bank of Hawai‘i.
“We are grateful to Hawai‘i Community Foundation for bringing together our community and activating the Maui Strong Fund to uplift our Maui ‘ohana,” said Momi Akimseu, Bank of Hawai‘i Foundation president. “We know the magnitude of this loss is only beginning to be felt, and the people of Maui will continue to need our support. We encourage those who are able to please donate to this secure fund in which 100% of the money raised will go toward community needs.”
