GRACE Christian Academy’s varsity team remains unbeaten in the NMIVA-PSS Middle School Volleyball League as they earned their fifth straight victory by defeating Saipan International School, 21-8, 21-10, Wednesday at the Marianas High School gym.
GCA V were in sync right from the start as they had each other’s back. They established control early, scoring seven points with Sofia Gomez, Ella Hall, and Misako Ota on the frontline. SIS tried to kill GCA’s momentum but failed to accurately return the ball and fell further out of view as GCA claimed the first set, 21-8.
GCA continued to fly high in the second set and remained in control. Although GCA committed errors that gave SIS a few free points, GCA eventually secured the point needed to win the set and the match, 21-10.
Winners, too
Joining the winner’s circle at the varsity level were Saipan Community School which outlasted Francisco M. Sablan Middle School, 21-19, 21-19; Dandan Middle School which bested Chacha Oceanview Middle School, 21-19, 21-14; and Tanapag Middle School which slipped past Hopwood Middle School, 21-18, 17-21, 15-11.
A Hopwood JV player extends for the return during an NMIVA-PSS Girls Middle School Volleyball League game at the MHS gym.
