ON Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, the Saipan Unity Lions Club celebrated its 30th charter anniversary, inducted its new members and installed its officers and board of directors at Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan.
The program was opened by District 204 Immediate Past Governor Lion Atoy Banting, PMJF.
All nine Lions Club on Saipan attended the event as well as the District 204 officers from Guam.
“We want to thank and appreciate the presence of our District 204 Governor Lion Loisa Cabuhat, PMJF, Second Vice District Governor Lion Roy Adonay, MJF and District Global Service Team Coordinator Lion Herbie Perez, PMJF who all came to Saipan and celebrate our momentous anniversary celebration.”
Nine new members of the Saipan Unity Lions Club and six new members of the Saipan Teen Unity Leo Club were inducted during the event.

During the event Charter Member Lion Willi Wagan, a three-time past president, past zone chairman and past region chairman of District 204, shared a brief history of how Saipan Unity Lions Club was established on Nov. 17, 1992 by Lion Vic Venus, Lion Danny Baralea, Lion Rolly Eugenio, Lion Cesar Padilla, Lion Joe Digno, Lion Pastor Gagaring and Guiding Lion Camilo Orallo.
After the video presentation of Lion Willi Wagan a parade of honor for all past and present presidents of the Saipan Unity Lions Club was presented.
District 204 Governor Lion Loisa Cabuhat, Second Vice District Governor Lion Roy Adonay and International President of Lions Club International Lion Brian E. Sheehan delivered their congratulatory message, and expressed appreciation for the club’s dedication and hard work throughout the year.
President Lion Lindie Mae Moleno and Leo President Leo Angel Lou Buensalido delivered their acceptance speeches.
Lion Lindie Mae Moleno, in her message, thanked her family and the Saipan Unity Lions Club SULC for all the support that they have given, saying that she was humbled to be part of the group.
“I can confidently say I would not be here tonight without my family and SULC family. It is my absolute honor and privilege to stand before you on this momentous event and…to say YES! I accept…the [presidency] of SULC for this Lion Year 2022-2023. I accept this position with pride and will give my best effort to make you proud.”
The Saipan Unity Lions Club would like to thank each and everyone, “especially all the Lions Club here on Saipan who went to our event and witnessed the journey of our club for 30 years. We hope to continue to serve the community as our theme for this year is ‘TOGETHER WE CAN!’ ”
