CUC said the problem has been corrected and that it is no longer necessary to boil the water before using it.
“We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience,” CUC stated.
The chlorine treatment was found to be providing adequate chlorine to the area.
Repeat samples collected on Friday, Sept. 5 were tested and found to be free of both total coliform and E. coli.

Public hearings on Division of Historic Preservation’s 5-year plan
(HPO) — The CNMI Division of Historic Preservation will be holding a series of public hearings to solicit input on its comprehensive preservation plan for the period of 2008 to 2012.
This plan will establish the HPO’s goals and objectives for this five-year period and will determine the types of programs and activities it will support utilizing annual grants received from the U.S. National Park Service.
Public hearings will be held in accordance with the following schedule:
• Saipan — Sept. 23, 7 p.m., CRM conference room
• Tinian — Sept. 10, 7 p.m., gymnasium
• Rota — Sept. 18, 7 p.m., Round House in Songsong
Public input may also be directed to HPO in writing — letter or e-mail.
Letters should be addressed to the Director, Division of Historic Preservation, Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, Saipan, MP 96950.

All comments must be received by HPO no later than 4 p.m. on Sept. 26.
