The twice weekly flights are expected to begin from 01 December, from Nadi on a 160-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
“Australia is Fiji’s number one source of visitors and with the population growing rapidly in the south east corner of Queensland, we know the time is right to introduce this service,” said Air Pacific’s managing director and chief executive officer, John Campbell.
“Gold Coast residents will be able to board a non-stop flight and be on the ground in Fiji in just over three hours,” he said.
“Conversely, Fijian residents can conveniently visit the Gold Coast with their families and enjoy the best theme parks in the southern hemisphere,” he added.
Gold Coast Airport chief operating officer Paul Donovan said this development is great news for their outbound market.
To celebrate the new service, Air Pacific has launched a low Internet-only fare of $186 one-way from Nadi to the Gold Coast. The Gold Coast service brings to four Air Pacific’s destinations to Australia with 48 flights a week.
