He is a male boonie dog, red in color, who is thought to be about 1 year of age. He has been de-wormed, vaccinated, and treated for mange.
PAWS would like to find Apollo a responsible family that will ensure that he continues to receive proper care for the rest of his life.
“This guy has had a rough start, so we would like to place him a home that will care for him until the day he dies a natural death of old age,” said PAWS President Katie Busenkell.
Apollo is currently in the care of a foster home that has reported he likes the company of humans and/or other animals, and that he shows no signs of aggression.
“Apollo’s temperament is perfect for a companion dog. He is not aggressive or overly protective, and therefore he would not make a good guard dog.”
If you are interested in meeting Apollo, please contact PAWS at 285-PAWS.
Puppies:
A litter of 6 puppies was rescued over the weekend by some caring PAWS members. They are approximately 4-5 weeks old and of mixed colors and sexes. One of the puppies is spoken for as of this press release, so 5 are still available for adoption.
PAWS is looking for responsible owners who would like to make one of these cuties a member of their family. They will need worming and shots, but are in good health and have beautiful coats.
For more information, please contact Paradise Island Animal Hospital at 234-9669 where the puppies are currently being boarded.
We also have 4 brown and tan puppies that are approximately 7 weeks old up for adoption. They are well socialized and come when called. There are 2 male and 2 female. They are weaned and have had their first worming. They are currently being treated for ringworm, with a simple to use topical spray medication. This will need to be continued for the next 2-4 weeks.
PAWS is again looking for responsible families that can give these puppies the TLC and continued medical care they need. Please call Rose Callier at 285-0408 regarding these puppies.
If you are interested in adopting a rescue at any time, contact PAWS on our Hotline at 285-PAWS or visit our Web site at www.paws-saipan.org, or our blog at http://paws-saipan.blogspot.com for photos and information of animals we currently have available.

Guerrero named NMI director of courts
(Office of the Clerk of Court) — Tracy M. Guerrero was named director of courts for the CNMI judiciary.
Guerrero took on her new role Sept. 2, replacing Margaret Palacios, who retired in April.
A native of Saipan, Guerrero recently relocated to the CNMI from San Francisco, California, where she spent seven years as a senior analyst at the U.S. Government Accountability Office.
While at GAO, Guerrero worked on various reports to the U.S. Congress on issues such as federal government agencies’ efforts to address terrorist financing, the impact of amended compact funds to the governments of the Marshall Islands and Federated States of Micronesia, and procurement practices at the U.S. Agency for International Development.
Prior to working at GAO, Guerrero attended California State University at Hayward, where she earned an MBA with a joint emphasis in finance and new ventures management.
Guerrero also holds a B.A. in political science from the University of California at Berkeley.
Guerrero is pleased to be back on Saipan.
“After living in the mainland for almost 10 years, my husband and I have finally returned home to raise our two children and put our education and work experience to good use here in Saipan. I welcome the challenges ahead as the director of courts for the Guma Hustisia, and I look forward to becoming productive contributor to our local community,” she said.
Some of Guerrero’s responsibilities as the director of courts for the judiciary include supervision of the administrative duties of the court, administration of the Guma Hustisia, and liaising with community leaders and other branches of government.
Chief Justice Miguel Demapan said, “Ms. Guerrero is a top-flight talent with a track record of success working with the federal government. Considering her extensive experience we consider ourselves fortunate to have her working with us.”
