Six leaders congratulates Palau for Independence Day

Palau celebrated Independence Day, Oct. 1.

United States president George Bush sent his congratulatory letter to President Remengesau saying that the US and Palau share a special relationship based “on commitment to security and stability in the Pacific.”Japan Prime Minister Taro Aso meanwhile said that the government will ensure that the relationship between the two countries will be strengthened.Taiwan President Maying-Jeou also sent his congratulatory message.“Taiwan values very much its special friendship with Palau,” Ma said.Netherlands Queen Beatrix also congratulated Palau as well Czech Republic President Vaclav Klaus.Germany President Horst Kohler meanwhile said that Palau and his country have a long tradition of friendly ties and which he expects to flourish more in the coming years.Russian Federation Ambassador Vitaly Vorobiev said that although Russia and Palau’s relationship was only recently established, he believes the relationship will grow in the future.
