MOEI wins comeback game

It was all PNCC-UC in the first half of the game. Scoring inside and outside, PNCC-UC seemed to have sealed the game in their favor, not until the final minutes of the 4th quarter. Down by ten points, MOE I put up a solid 2-3 zone defense to stop series of offensive attacks from very strong forwards of PNCC-UC inside the paint. As a consequence, steels and fastbreak points for the “Educators.”  Team Captain, Yutaka Gibbons Jr., who had a hard time finding the hoop on the first half, started to heat up on the last quarter by getting his scores on baseline drives as well cuts on painted area which changed the momentum of the game. In addition, teammate Raymond Roman sank back to back three pointers that extended the lead to eight. PNCC-UC tried to come back by trying their range beyond the arc but it was all too late that time finally caught up on them.

In an earlier game, President’s Men won by forfeit against Overrulled, while MOJ justified their strength and talent in basketball by winning against the Ministry of Finance with a score of 84 – 72. Ditz of MOJ scored 18 points in different areas in the court with his unorthodox-like style of shooting the ball. This is only the second loss for MOF for the season to stay as one of the top teams going into the playoffs.As for Division II Saturday games, Sams Sharks posed another win against Fish n Fins in the battle of diveshops with a score of 74 – 64.Anloyd provided the scores for Sams with a total of 20 points while Moses contributed 28 points for Fish n Fins.With a score of a whopping 52 points, Ryu of Royal Resort tried all his might to put his team on top against their opponent Surangel and Sons.But with more players that provided quality time for Surangel and Sons, the Royals was not able to get a good comeback and eventually lost with a score of 80 – 78.Neco group could not find their range as they lost to a much rejuvenated team, Rainbow Runners, in the third game of the night with a score of 101 – 64.
