Letter to the Editor: Assist Rota Resort’s new owner

The owner is seeking the assistance of DPL so that it could sell the resort to a new owner, but according to Secretary Del Rosario, they have not seen any document regarding the request.

Secretary Del Rosario, you should consider this opportunity because not responding to the request will give the CNMI a bad image. This is a new investment.

You should also consider the livelihood of the employees because once the business closes, then what can the employees do to survive in times like this?

I strongly encourage you to respond and assist the new owner of the company because the CNMI is in a bad condition.

Based on the budget for FY 2009, MVA is getting millions of dollars to promote the CNMI,  but DPL is not assisting by not giving the resort’s new owner an opportunity to invest here.

We have laws and policies to follow. The resort has complied with the laws and is only seeking the assistance of the government on how to complete the needed documents in order to complete the sale.

Charter flights are set once they seal the deal so give the new owner a chance to make a difference. The people of Rota are relying on this investment for employment. How will the municipality of Rota contribute more to the general fund if this opportunity is denied to us? HELP US MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THESE TYRING TIMES. Thank you.
