Speaker Arnold I. Palacios, R-Saipan, said Torres celebrated his birthday on Tuesday.
Torres, R-Saipan, joked that the good thing about getting older is that he continues to accumulate Social Security and Medicare benefits.
To honor his birthday, the speaker granted Torres’ request to include in their future agenda a proposal to consider taking action on a radio commentator who called lawmakers “meatheads, leeches and snakes.”
“We’re honorable meatheads,” said Vice Speaker Joseph P. Deleon Guerrero, R-Saipan, in jest.
Torres is known for his disclosures of government anomalies.
It was also Torres who challenged in court Gov. Benigno R. Fitial’s reprogramming authority. (Gemma Q. Casas)
