Workers have been seen on the CR since earlier this month with push brooms and paint stripping equipments.
“We have a deadline to meet,” said one of the workers as strips the CR of paint in a thunderstorm.According to Haninie Casiquin, Daewoo Office Engineer, the removal of the old and cracked paint is expected to be completed in early October.Daewoo has subcontracted the paint removal work. Casiquin said that once all of the paint is removed, the road markings will be repainted.Casiquin said that she is grateful of the people who use the CR for their patience and the courtesy extended to the workers on the road.The workers will strip all of the cracked paint that mark the entire length of the CR – estimated to be about 159 miles of road markings.“We expect that all of the CR road markings to be fully repainted by the end of October,” said Casiquin.The Daewoo workers, since they had begun stripping road-marking paint, have not been deterred from their work. Rain or shine, they say, “we will strip this road of the old paint and repaint the road markings with new paint.”
