Irene N. Tantiado, the workers group president, said she also asked other groups such as the United Workers Coalition, Dekada and the Human Dignity Movement to set aside their differences and support the CREAM forum.
She said her group is now coordinating with CREAM officials regarding the forum scheduled for Oct. 12 at the multi-purpose center in Susupe.
“Our group is in full support of this activity and we will work with CREAM to ensure its success,” she told Variety.
Tantiado said CREAM officials expressed willingness to also assist the guest workers’ activities.
Most CREAM members are Filipino-Americans and some are former guest workers in the CNMI.
Tantiado said United Workers Movement members cannot vote but they have friends in the local community and within CREAM who are registered voters.
“The candidates cannot just ignore our group,” she said.
Parents of U.S. citizen children with disabilities are also encouraged to attend the forum so they can relay their request for assistance to the candidates, Tantiado said.
She is also urging parents whose U.S. citizen children are serving in the military to attend the forum.
