The health fair was a success because it promoted health awareness and encouraged individuals to assume responsibility for their own health.
Booths were set up where medical and non-medical volunteers participated in the health fair which lasted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.One of the booths offered body mass index (BMI) and blood pressure checks.It was one of the popular booths as health personnel set up a body fat scale to determine the body fat content of those who visited the health fair.The ministry also prepared giveaways to the visitors to encourage them to participate in contest in booths.The health fair is an event designed for outreach and the ministry’s way of public health intervention.The event was held at the Bethlehem Park and different bureaus and divisions of the environmental health, behavioral health, Cancer program, tobacco control and prevention.
