Surangel and Sons started the game with their own style of Run and Gun game. Tightly guarding the Rangers point guard “Mr. Clutch” Alvin Soguilon by different players of Surangel. As a result, Rangers were not able to execute their plays in the paint and limited open looks for their shooters. Surangel then took advantage of the situation as they kept on pounding the rangers by using their quickness and transition baskets. They even went on leading by as much as 15 points in the first quarter that led to Rangers re-grouping coming back in the second half.
Despite of getting spectacular game from one of the well respected center in the league, Jay Naguit, with a score of 29 points, Rangers team were not able to get productions from other players to help them down the stretch. Although Surangel and Sons were ahead coming into the last quarter of the game, spectators and fans of both teams are still waiting for that second-wind that could spark a run from the Rangers.Known for their many comebacks on other past games, Rangers started to gain their momentum back but was again spoiled due to the fastbreak points courtesy of newly acquired player of Surangel and Sons, Deloy Pingot who scored 20 points in the game.Surangel will have a chance to close it on Sunday, October 12 by sweeping the Rangers in the series to win its first championship trophy since joining the FBA League.
