Rocball matches cancelled

THE Rocball League announces the cancellation of its games for two Saturdays to give way to the observance of All Saints Day on November 1, and the performance of the Russian Circus on November 8 at the Marianas High School Gymnasium.

Rocball games will resume on November 15.

Micronesian Games logo tilt

1. Contestants must be “citizens” from any of the Micronesian Games entities

2. All entries must be submitted to the respective NOCs by the end of October 2008

3. Each NOC must select the best 3 of its entries & send them to the following address, no later than November 15, 2008:

The Micronesian Council will choose and announce the name and address of the winners in due time.

Wanted: Women fighters

TRENCH Warz Promotions is looking for 2 women gladiators to take part in a Mixed Martial Arts match for the upcoming Trench Warz IX – “The Annihilation,” on December 12.

Trench Warz is searching for women who are 18 years old or older.

They should be between 130 lbs. and 140 lbs division and heavier.

There will be a talent/participation fee.

All-schools Cross-country series

THERE will be All-schools Cross-country on November 8, Saturday, at the Airport Road.

The race will start with 9 and 11-under age group followed by the 14 and 18-under age group.

Championship round will be on November 15, Saturday.

Cross-country meet will be a 1,500-meter to 5,000-meter in length, depending on the age group.

’08 BANMI Masters fee, roster deadline set

THE Basketball Association of the Northern Mariana Islands reminds concerned teams which would join the 2008 BANMI Masters Basketball to settle their entrance fee and submit rosters on or before November 10.

Fee is set for $500 but teams are encouraged to pay at least half of the amount prior to the opening games on the same date as the deadline for the payment of fees.

BANMI also reminds cagers to pay their $25-membership fee for them to be eligible for the basketball clinic that will be conducted days prior to the Masters event.

The membership fee is different from the entrance fee of the masters caging league.

Memorial Classic Golf Tournament

THE Refaluwash Golf Association would like to announce its Memorial Classic Golf Tournament on November 8, Saturday, at the Marianas Country Club in Marpi.

The tournament will have two formats – Low Gross (men & women) and Low Net Double Peoria.

For the Low Gross, the following prizes will be given away: $300 (1st place); $200 (2nd place); and $100 (3rd place).

For Low Net Double Peoria, the prizes are $500 (1st place); $300 (2nd place); and $200 (3rd place).

There also will be special awards for the closest to the pin in Hole #6, #8, and #12, and a hole-in-one in Hole #16.

Showtime is at 6:30 a.m.

Tee time is at 7:30 a.m.

There will be an awards banquet after the matches.

Entry fee is $100.

Portions of the tournament proceeds will benefit the Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School.
